I love my new zDen! I thought it would take some time to get used to it, but it was love at first snooze. All the window options are great for ventilation. Looking forward to getting a small fan to hang on the built in hook (back left inside) to help keep me cool on hot nights. I bought it specifically for traveling, but have been using it every night at home sleeping like a baby. It folds up very small to fit in a carry-on which is very convenient.

Life-saver on night shift. Had trouble sleeping during the day due to the natural light in my room. This thing blocks out all light. Very well designed and high quality, has held up for >6mos with regular use.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I Definitely did not think I would keep this product. I assumed wrongly that it would feel odd and separated from the world. I actually love it. It keeps out almost all of the light. When my room is dark, I see no light at all, but if I were out in the sunshine, I may see a little bit of light. The material is very soft and it doesn’t make noise when you move around. It has air vents that you can close. I sleep with mine closed because it does not get stuffy inside. I think because the material is so soft, it just feels like you’re sleeping under a T-shirt. My husband sleeps with the fan directly on us, and I hate it. This totally protects me and I can read inside of it without disturbing him. My eyes don’t get dried out from the fan if I’m reading.

Super dark, soft and quiet fabric, perfect size. The only issue I had was getting it out of the bag, but the manufacturer was incredibly helpful and I'm very happy I purchased.

I was searching for some black-out curtains until I came across this gem. I was skeptical at first because it was a small tent over my head, I was worried ventilation would be an issue but I decided to give it a shot and purchased it. Upon receiving zDen I notice the material is soft but breathable. I tried it the first night. It was nice. I slept longer and uninterrupted. I tried sleeping without it after the 3rd night. It took a little longer to sleep even without it, and I was waking up two hours earlier because of the summer sunrise. After going back and to using zDen, I was slowly going back to reaching 7.5 hours of interrupted sleep. I felt more energy waking up. I took zDen camping. It was a little cumbersome especially with 4 people sleeping in one tent but we managed. I like how zDen is compact, easy to carry around definitely recommending it.

Overview: It took me about a week to adapt and I wanted to give it a few days before my review. I wasnt sure at first as it was strange, and strange takes a bit of adapting. Bottom line: Im waking refreshed. It is worth it.Edit: 1 year later and I am still using it but I did change how I use it and it worls better. I binder-clipped the opening wings back and I just plop it opening side down over my head. Easier to get "in" and "out" and I can prop up a corner periodically to let fresh air in as needed. I can move my arms around easily. I wake up and I feel "done" with sleep [vs wanting just 5 more minutes].Challenges: I didnt realize I like to fling my arms out wide and while the zden is big, it isnt wide enough to stretch inside it. Gradually, I have learned to stick my arms out of the tent, or cave as I have come to call it.It was also stuffy at first and I learned to leave the front and a window vent or two open during the day to air it. I usually leave one vent open at night. With options on each side you can pick the right one for you. It also has a strap for a personal fan but I didnt use it. Turning on the ac also helped. No issues now.What would I like different? I wish a cpap entry was available from the top as I use a suspended tube system. Adapting to dragging the tube around and sometimes lying on it was a separate task for me.I put my phone in the pocket as getting out of the den and to a side table is more of a production.I havent tried folding it up. So no comments on that.What do I like? See my photos for more details. Notice "the money shot", the last one, taken midday, normal room lighting, all vents closed and front loosely draped. No flash. I wanted darkness and zden delivered! Human eyes can detect some gray spots but even the cpap hole is not very visible during the day and invisible at night. You will have to learn to do somethings by feel as you have to turn off the room light, then crawl into the cave, then deal with cpap and phone and vent curtains..but I learned quickly and I dont have to think about the right order now.How is my sleep? Im waking up earlier, paradoxically, but more rested. Im not grasping after 5 more minutes. Again, expect a few days of adjustment, more than 2. I actually tried going back to no den after 2 nights as I was still figuring out a system and was frustrated. The next night I chose the den because even after only 2 days I was sleeping better with it. I havent looked back.Was it worth it? Yes. Quality shows.

Two things I needed from this product:1) Better sleep.2) Easy to use.I fall asleep much faster now. It also enhances my relaxation and pre-sleep routine of settling down and focusing. Sets up just like a car shade. It is also hassle-free to sit up without hitting your head. I was most worried about sitting up and getting tangled. This is spacious and simple.Wish it came in other colors..I get better sleep.. it's well worth it if you get a single night's sleep. Happy Customer!

I had a bored cat so I set up this sleep tent for him to hang out in.He happily settled into it and let me work in peace for a few hours.I had tested this myself and it definitely is a great option for light blocking during a daytime nap. Sometimes I work offset hours and I don't have light blocking curtains.The storage bag is neat. It's better than blackout curtains, better than a sleep mask, and I've been feel extra rested while sleeping in this.I've been using the zDen for quite awhile now - I backed it when they were crowdfunding on Kickstarter! And it's great timing that it showed up on Amazon, since I was thinking of getting a second one.Great news - it's the same great product it's always been! Amazon shipped it out promptly after I ordered it, and it arrived in a nice big box on my porch.If you've never used one, here's a few things you should know:- You'll sleep really well. Sleeping in total darkness just feels noticably different.- It even blocks out daylight, which is amazing for afternoon naps.(I'm a dad with three kids ages 2 to 8 - I need to sleep when I can!)- It's surprisingly big and the material is soft to the touch, and generally breathes nicely.It's great that it's so big, especially cause I use a big wedge pillow to help with my snoring, and that pillow (surprisingly!) fits perfectly inside the den.It works great, even better than a sleep mask too - I love that I don't feel it on my face, there's no strap wrapped around my head and hair, and there's no way it can fall off my face.It also folds us super compact, though I mostly leave it on top of my bed.Note that some lookalike products have been showing up on Amazon, so to be fair (and cause I love a good deal) I ordered one of those too. I ordered this because sometimes I need a daytime retreat for a nap, or as a person who has headaches being in the dark helps. Also, this would be great for when husband watches tv and I want to block out the light or tv.Well for the most part it’s pretty dark inside the tint description says 99% percent light blocking but that 1% of light didn’t seem like 1 %. Light is visible.For the most part it’s dark, but light does penetrate certain areas of the tent.The biggest flaw is along the seams where the Velcro is, there are open spaces causing light to enter through those areas.So this is a design flaw, the Velcro isn’t strong enough or even throughout to close the seam and create a seal, therefore causing light to enter.Everything else is ok, the material is sturdy, the fabric isn’t cheap.It folds up easily and can be zipped up without issue.My biggest concern was that light enters into the tint. That 1%felt like 10.Overall, it does reduce light and I could still find use in their tent just something to note. For the value to quality I expect it to do what it’s supposed to and this fell short.

I so desperately need a nap now and then, but I have a terrible time relaxing enough to fall asleep. I've tried eye masks, sound frequencies, nature sounds, sleep stories, etc. (all with noise-canceling headphones). No luck. When I ordered this, I felt a little stupid. Ha! But, I want a good nap so badly that I was willing to give it a go!First off - this is not 100% blackout, but close enough. It's so dark that it's very relaxing and peaceful. I was a little worried I would get too hot, but it's big enough not to be too stuffy. Honestly, I feel like a child in a blanket fort, which is just about the best thing in the world. Even if I don't fall asleep, it's so fun, I don't even care. But I did manage to fall asleep.My favorite thing about this is that it has little windows! Oh my gosh, I can't even believe how fun it is to watch Stanley Tucci's Searching for Italy from inside my little sleeping tent.So, this is not only a great place to have a relaxing nap, but if you're an adult who wants to play child, this will be your favorite toy! I can't recommend it enough!Also, it is easy to fold up (watch the linked video). And it is stored away in a small bag that you can stash away easily. Woo hoo! I love this thing!

I can’t believe this thing sell for $99.97??Almost 100 bucks for a sleeping little tent/curtain?This thing is well made.Material is very soft and comfortable.It is very thick and fully blocking out all lights.It is easy to carry around and easily to move around.However, with the metal part, I am not sure if it can be safely washed by washing machine.With 100 bucks, I can get a canopy or tent that covers up the whole bed, not just my head with pillow.Product is nice but price is not reasonable to me.

I've had my zDen for 2 weeks now and I LOVE IT! I sleep so much better and longer. I also use a sunshine alarm clock with bird sounds, pointed at my cozy zDen. It is outside the zDen and when I wake up I feel like I'm camping in a tent by a remote lake. What a happy way to wake up after a truly deep sleep! I cannot recommend the zDen highly enough.

I would have to say that the zDen has done wonders for rearranging my sleep patterns.
I went from waking up several times throughout the night, to sleeping at least 6 hours consistently, and for me, that was amazing.
The peaceful atmosphere it creates is unmatched!
I have definitely recommended it to several of my friends!

It definitely does the job of blacking things out without anything touching your face, but I ended up not being able to use it for more than a few days because it felt too hot and stuffy inside. If i opened the side vents, then it would be too bright inside. Maybe there is a way to set up a fan inside, but I didn't want to deal with that. Good idea, but not quite the right execution for me.

I just had my first night sleeping in this and it’s amazing! It took me a few minutes to settle into the tent-like sleeping shelter but it’s surprisingly comfortable and spacious. It blocked light from coming in and I love the little pocket to put things in. There is a spot in the back for charging cables or CPAP hoses that is well placed so it won’t disturb your sleep. It is very well made and has areas to unzip for ventilation.I have tried many eye masks before and didn’t like the feel of them, especially when sleeping on my side. None of them worked for me.My husband needs some light at night and I need total darkness. This gives us both what we need.It is definitely worth the money!

I work night shift and can have all of the blinds open at noon and it is still very dark in the head tent!

I wish I bought this years ago. This is a lifesaver for bright rooms and taking naps during the day. It’s super cozy and soft. Highly recommended. I don’t write review reviews often.

I think it's an awesome concept, well made, and I wanted it to work because I need total darkness for time zone adjusting for a trip in Europe, but I tested it three times and it gets hot and stuffy every time unless you open the ventilation flaps, which makes sense, BUT then it's not total darkness. I even tried putting a small fan in there and it still didn't work.

Perfect investment for peaceful rest. I take this camping, to the hospital when family members are in the hospital and I need to stay with them. I take it to hotels, this is a don’t leave home without with the way your body comfortably fits, durability, stability, light weight with the privacy you need!I use earplugs and block out the world!!!
